Information Security Management

It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. One begins insensibly to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts.

Information is the core of the modern company or organization. So, it isn’t more than logical to protect that information stream. More organizations start to realize this, but it is also then that the inevitable questions arise :
  • What do we have to protect?
  • What do we have to do first?
  • Who will do it? and in which way?
  • How far do we have to go with our efforts?
  • Will it be worthwhile?
  • How can we be sure we don’t overlook something?
  • How to maintain a healthy balance between productivity and security?
Unfortunately, there is no easy answer to these questions (except maybe “It depends…”). However, these questions ARE important and NEED to be answered in a proper way. At Ascure, we don’t want to pretend that we have the answers ready, but we know how to define an appropriate answer and consider it as our major tasks to enable and support the organization to define and develop these answers themselves. Standards, industry best practices, management frameworks and information technologies, related to information security as well as more generic ones, are tools we put into practice to result in a measurably better protection of information and ultimately securing business value.
